Does your child or young person spend time online?
Do you know what content they are accessing?
We are delighted to have secured training on digital harms from Ali Barfield.
Ali is an autistic/ADHD man who is passionate about neurodiversity and radicalism. He has graduated from Bishop Grosseteste University and has extensive experience working in SEND school settings both in an educational and pastoral capacity, working closely within disadvantaged communities with high proportions of neurodivergent students.
His training draws on his lived experiences of autism/ADHD. He has worked for over 5 years with Britain’s neurodivergent community both in the school setting and as part of the third sector. He is particularly interested in the overlap between neurodivergence and radicalism and is an experienced public speaker.
Deflect and protect are a digital harms training company, created by members of the neurodivergent community to discuss the lived experiences of young autistic people online. We look at the rise of hateful content in autistic spaces online, the vulnerabilities to being radicalised our community has as well as empower parents and carers to discuss and use the internet positively.
